Javier Moreno Barber is the Editorial Director of PRISA and the Director of LENA, Leading European Newspaper Alliance. Between 2006 and 2014 he was editor-in-chief of the daily newspaper El País. Previously, he was director of the financial newspaper Cinco Días, which is also published by the PRISA Group. He joined El País in the beginning of the 90s and held different positions such as economic affairs journalist, editor-in-chief of the Mexico edition, and in 1999 he was appointed editor-in-chief of the economy section, where he covered meetings of the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the Davos World Economic Forum. In 2002 he became the paper’s foreign correspondent in Berlin.
