Sally Lehrman is Director of the Trust Project and Journalism Ethics at the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics at Santa Clara University. She speaks and leads workshops on building public trust in the news and on inclusive reporting, and writes on science and policy for national news media, with bylines in Scientific American, Nature, Salon and The DNA Files, distributed by NPR, among others. Honors include a Peabody Award,Columbia/Du Pont Silver Baton, and the John S. Knight Fellowship. She is co-editing Reporting Inequality: Tools and methods for covering race and ethnicity and working on Skin Deep: The Search for Race in Our Genes, about the quest to address health disparities, for Oxford University Press. She also is Professor of Science and Justice at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
