Timothy Garton Ash is an author and a professor. He writes about current political affairs, analysing the ‘history of the present’ and transformations in Europe and the US over the last thirty years. He is a professor of European Studies at the University of Oxford, Isaiah Berlin professorial fellow at St Antony’s College, Oxford, and a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University. He writes a regular column on international affairs in The Guardian.
