The MAK, the Museum of Applied Arts/Contemporary Art, is one of the most important museums of its kind worldwide, defining itself as a laboratory of societal knowledge. It is also a forum of intercultural and artistic exchange as well as of fruitful dialog with designers, artists, and architects. The Welcome Buffet, the first social event of the GEN Summit 2017 will be held at the museum, the summit participants will get an exclusive visit of the “Hello, Robot. Design between Human and Machine” exhibition during the evening.
The Hofburg is the formal imperial palace in the centre of Vienna. Built in the 13th century and expanded in the centuries since, the palace has been the seat of power of the Habsburg dynasty rulers. The Data Journalism Awards ceremony and Gala dinner will be held in the Festsaal, a grandiose room in this magnificent venue.
The evening will begin with the announcement of the Startups for News winners, followed by the Startups for News party to wrap up the summit. Platzhirsch is one of the most sought-after places of the viennese nightlife. The Startups for News Party will be held at the venue, to celebrate the winner of the 2017 competition. This is your chance to unwind and dance the night away with great music, cocktails and delicious finger foods while enjoying the company of everyone you’ve met over the course of the three days.
